Computational Fluid Dynamics

CFD  is a powerful technique allowing the simulation of complex fluid flow and heat transfer in furnace atmospheres.

Designs can be tested before any physical manufacturing is done, and whilst it must be borne in mind that a numerical simulation is not the real situation, relatively simple modelling can pay large dividends in testing the feasibility of a concept and in ensuring appropriate furnace geometry.

Post-design simulation is used to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements, for example minimum residence times of exhaust gases in incinerators.

AceFurnace uses the well established PHOENICS code from CHAM and has recently acquired the Siemens FloEFD software integrated within our Solid Edge CAD package.
